Building on our Commitment to Communities — Outside the Design Process

December 1, 2019

A great way to shake up our routine and give back to the communities we serve is through partnering with local organizations like REACH Community Development (REACH). An organization that believes in creating and providing quality, affordable housing and opportunities for individuals, families and communities, REACH also offers free home repairs, supports residents, and strengthens communities throughout the greater Portland-Metro area.

We recently worked with REACH for their pilot of the “Community Builder Program Volunteer Repair-a-thon.” Together with volunteers from REACH and other local companies, we were able to rid homeowner sites of blackberries brambles, overgrown trees and other yard debris – both natural and man-made. Cleanups like these help clear Bureau of Development Services citations, which can save homeowners from paying costly fines on citations they may not be able to afford.

Our volunteer day with REACH was an opportunity to be outdoors and connect with community members on a personal level by giving time and support to a cause we firmly believe in.
